THE INSPIRATION FOR RED RIGHT HAND

The title of RED RIGHT HAND comes from a Nick Cave song of the same name. It’s a song I have loved since the moment I heard it.

Hell, I love almost everything Nick Cave does. He’s like a spirit animal for me. I have him tattooed on my leg.

The book isn’t about the song, but it will be on the soundtrack. I did base the character of the Man In Black (Nyarlathotep aka the Crawling Chaos aka The Nightmare God) on the feeling the song evokes. It’s sinister. Diabolical.

And the final lyric of the song does sum up the Man In Black.

“He’s a ghost, he’s a god,
he’s a man, he’s a guru
You’re one microscopic cog
in his catastrophic plan
Designed and directed by
his red right hand”

Check out the video and fall in love with the genius of Nick Cave.
